Large Prostate? Why Size Does Not Rule You Out

By Dr. Ahmed Ali Alnaimi, Consultant Urological Surgeon

Men with very large prostates are often told their options are limited, and that major surgery, sometimes open or robotic prostatectomy, is the only route. Longer operations, more bleeding and longer recovery usually follow.

Aquablation has changed that. Because the robot follows a mapped plan, the procedure takes a similar amount of time regardless of prostate size. Clinical studies have specifically included men with large prostates and shown strong, durable results.

This means many men with large prostates can now have a minimally invasive procedure, through the urethra, with no external incisions, and a short hospital stay.

Every case is assessed individually. Your prostate size, shape and overall health all guide the recommendation. But if you have been told your prostate is “too big” for minimally invasive treatment, it is worth getting a specialist opinion on Aquablation.
